Betway, the global sportsbook known for its passion for enhancing players’ lives both on and off the field, has yet again demonstrated its commitment to women’s football. The company has decided to renew its sponsorship for Ghana women’s football, guaranteeing steady financial support for the Women’s Premier League.
Kwabena Oppong Nkrumah, the Country Manager at Betway, expressed his delight about this sponsorship extension. He said that Betway Ghana has always been committed to sports in the country and is thrilled to continue supporting women’s football. Nkrumah believes this sponsorship is a further testament to the company’s devotion to promoting sports in Ghana. He is hopeful that women’s football will continue to develop in the country.
Bridging the Gap
Prosper Harrison Addo, the General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), also expressed his gratitude towards Betway for its sponsorship. Addo confirmed that Betway’s support has already begun making improvements in women’s football. He added that the gap between men’s and women’s football in Ghana is slowly reducing.
Betway’s sponsorship funds are already going to good use, with a series of skills workshops being organised to help female football players improve their abilities. This will be the second consecutive season where the workshops are locally run. Moreover, all participating teams will receive training equipment from Betway, illustrating the company’s commitment to local sports development in Ghana.
