The world of soccer is in for some new and exciting news. Nigeria’s top bookmaking firm, Bet9ja, forged a partnership with the country’s Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL).
This means Bet9ja will become the official supporter and sponsor of the elite NPFL.
The partnership followed a noticeable spike in attention the NPFL had accumulated on the sports betting platform. The deal wrapped up in December 2021.
Bet9ja views the deal as a golden opportunity to assist the NPFL in growing structurally as well as financially.
Bet9ja’s head of marketing and corporate communications, Femi Osobajo, said the firm were the biggest sports betting platform in Nigeria.
They added that a decent number of activities that go on the platform are from foreign leagues. And that the NPFL really needs all the support it can get. That’s why Bet9ja is trying to throw their weight behind them.
Bet9ja is hopeful that the partnership will also lead to more opportunities. Plus, they hope that it will give the NPFL a platform where it can get the kind of publicity it deserves.
The press conference announcing the partnership featured the chairman of the NPFL, Shehu Dikko.
Bet9ja’s head of Human Resources, Kikky Boboye, and the head of special projects, Harry Iwuala, were at the press conference. NPFL members were in attendance too.
Bet9ja is the registered trading name of KC Gaming Networks Limited. In all states which permit sports betting, Bet9ja holds licenses. Bet9ja covers all major world sporting events. The bookmaker guarantees payouts on all winning bets.
2021-2022 NPFL Season Fires Up
The NPFL kicked off the 2021-22 campaign recently. Shooting Stars nailed a difficult 0-0 draw with Gombe United in Pamtami. Down one team member – after the layoff of Henry Ndedi for a second caution – the Oluyole Warriors showed their mettle scoring a point against 3SC.
In other NPFL games, seven-time Nigerian top-rankers, the Rangers, pipped hosts Katsina United 2-1. Chidiebere Nwobodo and Ossy Martins scored goals at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium game.
Two-time African champions, Enyimba, scored a late 2-1 win against local rivals Shooting at the Enyimba Stadium. Kwara United routed Dakkada FC 3-0 in Ilorin.
The Remo Stars also started on a good note. The team achieved a 2-0 unexpected win over MFM FC at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
