Sports Betting Community, the media and events company, and the South African Bookmaker’s Association have entered into a planned partnership. This was just ahead of the SBC Digital Summit Africa, the virtual conference and interactive exhibition which is currently unfolding.

SABA is the foremost trade alliance for bookmaking operators in South Africa and has been running for almost 70 years. It has established itself as a voice to be reckoned with inside the industry and amongst regulators.

Details on the Agreement

SABA has come out in full support of the SBC Digital Summit Africa, the digital and physical event aimed at outlining in-depth knowledge of the South African market.

The consortium is running a workshop called Empowerment Through Education aimed at revealing information about its workings. Details will be provided on how the coalition’s learning programmes and solutions with sportsbooks and governmental institutions are creating employment opportunities for young people.

Everyone’s Happy With the Deal

Sean Coleman, SABA Chief Executive Officer, will be part of the conference panel for Gaming in Africa. He joins Dan Phillips, NEL Advisory CEO, Dean Finder, Evolution Services CEO, Jason Roberts, the Betty Bingo Chief Operating Officer, and Richard Hogg, COO of BetGames.TV. The future of online casinos in African markets is the topic of discussion.

Coleman spoke of his union’s delight at the partnership, saying that the quality of SBC conferences for the global betting and gaming sector has always been high. He revealed that he’s very excited about participating in the Digital Summit, saying SABA’s educational schemes will take centre-stage while everyone networks to share knowledge and ideas.

Marketing Director at SBC Dennis Algreen added that his business is just as excited about working with SABA. After stating that the league counts the majority of South African sportsbooks among its membership, Algreen mentioned its vast knowledge of the betting market. He revealed that the guild will offer invaluable insights about the market in this part of the world.

More About the Digital Summit

The online conference features 60 senior executive speakers in 18 conference sessions. These are set to cover markets across Africa and address issues around marketing, payments, regulation, and safer betting and gambling.

An interactive product display area is running alongside the convention. Some of the most important suppliers in the industry will be demonstrating innovations tailored directly for the African market here. This will be in addition to a networking roundtable initiative creating a space for agents to connect with one another and talk shop with their fellows.
